SPS Fuzion Future Leaders Scholarship

The SPS Fuzion Future Leaders Scholarship recognizes student-athletes who exemplify the values of SPS Fuzion through leadership, dedication, sportsmanship, community involvement, and a commitment to the growth of female hockey.

This scholarship is intended to support graduating student-athletes as they pursue post-secondary education and continue their journey beyond minor hockey.

Recipients will receive their award upon providing proof of acceptance or enrollment in a recognized post-secondary institution.

Scholarship Value

SPS Fuzion is proud to offer up to two scholarships annually, each valued at $500.

The continuation and value of the scholarship may be reviewed and approved by the SPS Fuzion Board of Directors each year.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

• Be a current SPS Fuzion player during the scholarship application period.
• Be enrolled in Grade 12.
• Be a second- or third-year U18 player.
• Have played a minimum of three seasons with SPS Fuzion.
• Be planning to attend a recognized post-secondary institution.
• Not have previously received this scholarship.

Selection Criteria

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

• Strong character and integrity.
• Respect for teammates, coaches, officials, and opponents.
• Commitment to teamwork and sportsmanship.
• Consistent effort, dedication, and a positive attitude.
• Leadership both on and off the ice.
• Meaningful involvement in the community, particularly through volunteering and supporting the development of female athletes.

Application Requirements

Applications must include:

1. A letter of reference from a former hockey coach.
2. A letter of reference from a current teacher or school administrator.
3. A letter of reference highlighting community involvement or volunteer service.
4. Proof of acceptance (or conditional acceptance) to a recognized post-secondary institution.
5. A personal statement or email outlining:
   • Your hockey journey.
   • Your contributions to SPS Fuzion and your community.
   • Your post-secondary goals.
   • Why you believe you are deserving of this scholarship.

Selection Committee

Applications will be reviewed by members of the SPS Fuzion Board of Directors.

Current committee members:

• Junior Director
• Vice President, Administration

Committee membership may be adjusted by the Board as required.

Successful Recipient(s) Selected By: February 5, 2027
