FUZION JUNIOR KINGS

For the 2026-27 hockey season, SPS Fuzion and Sherwood Park Junior Kings are continuing their partnership to bring you season 2 of U11 Female Elite hockey. Both SPS Fuzion and SPMHA  are committed to providing a comprehensive development program for players who want to  reach elite hockey and stay within their hockey community. The focus of the program is to  implement added focus on Coach and Player development to the existing U11 Female  Program. SPS Fuzion, Junior Kings and several other EFHL members have recognized the  value in an enhanced female development model for U11, resulting in the creation of our  Fuzion Junior Kings program.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Program Structure

The U11 Female Elite program will include 16-17 players. The U11 Female Elite team will  play in the EFHL and be classified in the appropriate tier to ensure a strong competitive  balance and level of competition.

Coach Selection

To aid in season preparation, an internal decision was made to announce the U11 Female  Elite coaches prior to the start of the season as opposed to near the end of the evaluation  period.  We are pleased to announce the coach for 2026-27 is Scott Henkelman.

Player Selection

Team formation will be based on players' abilities. Players will be evaluated using the data  collected from the evaluation process. The named coach will work with board members to  finalize roster selections.

Development Opportunities

Priority focus is on additional player development through third-party skills providers  including, but not limited to, power skating, goalie training & physical literacy. The number  of full-ice practices and development hours will increase in addition to off-ice  opportunities.

Apparel Package

Players will receive a Fuzion Junior kings apparel package.

Community Engagement

Continued focus on community engagement will occur through volunteering and the  Apprenticeship Program, which engages our Fuzion Junior Kings players with members of  SPKAC.
